The School of Management Science and Real Estate holds its 40th Anniversary Meeting
The School of Management Science and Real Estate has ushered in its 40th Anniversary. On the morning of October 23, 2021, the School of Management Science and Real Estate held its 40th Anniversary Meeting in the Science Hall, Campus B, Chongqing University. Honored guests from outside Chongqing University that showed up at the Meeting included Mr. Song Chunhua, vice minister of the former Ministry of Construction and honorary president of the Architectural Society of China, Academician Deng Wenzhong, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ms. Gu Yongxin, supervisor of the Architectural Society of China, directors of the Engineering Management Research Branch of the Architectural Society of China, members of the Teaching Guidance Sub-committee of Engineering Management and Engineering Cost under the Ministry of Education, and teachers from brother universities including Tsinghua University.
Honored guests from Chongqing University included Prof. Shu Lichun, Secretary of CPC CQU Committee, Prof. Zhu Jialin, former secretary of CPC CQU Committee, Prof. Ou Keping, former secretary of CPC CQU Committee, as well as other former officials of Chongqing University, including Zhang Siping, Zhang Yuanlin, Yao Muyuan and Huang Zongming, and professors from other schools of the Faculty of Built Environment and departments of Chongqing University. Professor Yan Wei, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Management Science and Real Estate, presided at the Meeting.
Prof. Liu Guiwen, Dean of the School, delivered a speech on behalf of the School, and extended his thanks to the guests present. Prof. Liu said that the development history of the School of Management Science and Real Estate in the past 40 years was a song of inheritance and unremitting endeavor. According to Prof. Liu, the School has been making active contribution to the construction of China and the construction of engineering management discipline. The 40th Anniversary marks an important milestone in the development history of the School of Management Science and Real Estate. In the future, the School will continue with its current efforts to write a new chapter of development.
Mr. Song Chunhua, Vice Minister of the former Ministry of Construction and honorary president of the Architectural Society of China, and Fang Dongping, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech at the Meeting as honored guests. Song Chunhua congratulated on the 40th Anniversary of the School, and expressed his appreciation and recognition of the achievements made by the School. Song suggested that the School seize this opportunity and focus on high-quality development, and encouraged it to make further contributions to the construction management and real estate business of China by nurturing more competitive talents in science management and sticking to its initial missions. Fang Dongping commended the School of Management Science and Real Estate for its large scale and complete disciplinary system, and its remarkable achievements in 6 disciplines, including urban development and real estate and logistics management. In the future, the School of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University and the School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University will strengthen cooperation and exchange, and make mutual improvement. At last, Fang Dongping wished the Meeting a great success.
The School of Management Science and Real Estate received congratulatory letters from more than 30 enterprises including China State Construction Engineering and more than 50 colleges, universities and institutions including Tsinghua University on the 40th Anniversary. Prof. Ren Hong of the School read out the congratulatory letters from China State Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and China Real Estate Association.
During the "Saying Thanks to Teachers" part, He Zheng, a retired teacher of the School who wasn't present, read a poem to express congratulations on the 40th Anniversary of the School. Many CQU alumni returned to Chongqing University and had a joyful gathering. The alumnus representative presented the representative of retired teachers of the School with a bunch of flowers, and expressed gratitude and wishes.
Prof. Zhang Shilian, the teacher representative of the School, Kan Naigui, the alumnus representative, and Zuo Jialing, the representative of current students of the School, delivered speeches respectively.
Professor Zhang Shilian thanked the honored guests present at the event on behalf of all current teachers of the School of Management Science and Real Estate. Zhang said that the School had nurtured outstanding talents generation after generation in the past 40 years. Now the teachers and students of the School should continue with the unremitting efforts and take up the heavy responsibility for nurturing more outstanding high-quality talents for the country and the society while sticking to its initial missions.
Kan Naigui, an alumnus of the School, expressed his congratulations on the 40th Anniversary of the School, and his gratitude to the School for the nurturing efforts. Furthermore, Kan expressed his hope that the alumni of the School would work together to make further contributions to the country, the society and the School.
Zuo Jialing, a postgraduate student of 2020, expressed her sincere congratulations on the 40th Anniversary of the School and her love for the School as a student representative.
After that, Prof. Shu Lichun, Secretary of CPC CQU Committee, delivered a speech at the Meeting, and led the attendants through the development history of Chongqing University and the School of Management Science and Real Estate. On behalf of CQU, Prof. Shu congratulated the School on its 40th Anniversary and extended his thanks to the alumni and honored guests present at the Meeting. Prof. Shu also expressed his appreciation of the achievements made by the School, and expressed his hope that the School will continue to bring pride to CQU with substantial support of Chongqing University and the society.
At last, some current students put on a poem recitation performance for the 40th Anniversary of the School: An Ode to Students of the School. This poem is about how the students of the School are patriotic, hardworking and ambitious. The Meeting was brought to a successful end amidst a pleasant atmosphere.
