CQU Intelligent Construction approved as a newly registered undergraduate subject by MOE
According to the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Announcing the Registration and Approval Results of Undergraduate Subjects in Colleges and Universities in 2020 (GJH [202] No. 1) released by the Ministry of Education, Intelligent Construction subject is officially approved.
Intelligent Construction is a "new engineering" subject newly approved to be established officially by the Ministry of Education in 2018. This new engineering discipline was brought forward against the background of in-depth integration of information technology and engineering construction and established by integrating modern information technology including big data, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things, as well as control engineering, on the basis of architecture, civil engineering and engineering management. It is a typical interdiscipline.
The Intelligent Construction subject of Chongqing University was proposed jointly by our School and the School of Civil Engineering. The discipline Intelligent Construction of Chongqing University accords with the mission of Chongqing University to build a "well-equipped and influential university", and cultivate "industrial elites and pillars of the nation", and takes "future development, frontier science and technology, international horizon and development" as the guiding thought. The goal of construction of the discipline is to build an international innovative undergraduate discipline of intelligent construction that is "at the leading level in China, and renowned in the world, with distinct characteristics". The discipline Intelligent Construction of Chongqing University responds to the need of the national strategy and future engineering construction, and aims to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents that have desirable scientific and humanistic quality, master professional fundamental knowledge in areas including construction and civil engineering, engineering management and information technology, are capable of intelligent and information-based integration planning, design and management of activities throughout the entire industrial chain of construction enterprises, and have systematic thinking, innovative thinking, teamwork skills, international horizon and leadership consciousness.
