The 24th International Symposium on Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate held at CQU
From November 29 to December 2, the 24th International Symposium on Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate, co-hosted by Chinese Research Institute of Construction Management and the Faculty of Architecture of Chongqing University, and organized by the School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University, was being held at Chongqing University.

The topic of the event was "advancement of construction management and real estate in the new era". There were 2 keynote speeches, 2 roundtable forums, 1 dialogue between Chinese and Australian scholars and 10 parallel forums on distinct topics. Nearly 400 researchers and experts from more than 70 colleges and universities of more than 10 countries and regions, including China, the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia, appeared at the event.

Liu Guiwen, dean of the School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University, chairman of the Symposium, presided over the opening ceremony of the event. Professor Hu Xuebin, a standing member of the CPC CQU Committee, head of the Publicity Department, and deputy director of the Faculty of Architecture, addressed the audience at the opening ceremony. Professor Hu said that Chongqing University was honored to act as a co-host of the Symposium, which is an important academic exchange platform in the field of construction management and real estate. With support of CRIOCM in the past more than 20 years, this International Symposium on "advancement of construction management and real estate" has become an important bridge for exchange in the field of construction management between China and other countries, and has made great contributions to the exchange cooperation between the mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, China and the UK, China and Australia and between China and the USA. Professor Wu Yuzhe from the School of Public Management of Zhejiang University, and Professor Yan Wei, secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Management Science and Real Estate, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony on behalf of CRIOCM and organizer of CRIOCM2019.


Totally 11 well-known experts and researchers in the field of construction management at home and abroad were invited to the event as keynote speakers. Among them, there is Professor Charles T. Jahren from Lowa State University, former editor in chief and current chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management of ASCE, Professor Wang Tiehong, president of China Construction Industry Association, Professor Shen Qiping from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Professor Fang Dongping from Tsinghua University. There were totally 11 keynote speeches and10 parallel forums on topics including new urbanization, smart city and eco city planning and construction, infrastructure construction, land development and utilization, building safety research and building industrialization. More than 100 honored guests delivered speeches at the Symposium, making it a grand academic event where research frontier and cutting-edge views were shared.


Professor Ye Kunhui, executive chairman of the Symposium, presided over the closing ceremony. According to Professor Ye, the keynote speech sessions, roundtable forums and parallel forums proved to fruitful, and played a positive role in promoting exchange between experts and researchers in the field of construction management and real estate, and collision of frontier academic thoughts.
The School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University did a great job in organizing the event, and showed the professional demeanor of its teachers and students. The Symposium was about inheritance and innovation, and retrospect and prospect, and served as a platform for researchers and professionals from home and abroad to exhibit and discuss academic achievements, and played a positive role in promoting extensive discussion and exchange in frontier research achievements and progress in practical application. Guided by the topic of the event, "advancement of construction management and real estate in the new era", it posed a positive impact on the future development road of the industry.
