CQU Prof. Liu Guiwen attends Forum

at Western Sydney University

 

From February 18 to 19, 2019, Professor Liu Guiwen, Dean of the School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University, was on a strategic cooperation visit to the Western Sydney University. During this period, he attended the WSU-CQU Annual Joint Forum-Industry 4.0 & Built Environment: shaping the future of construction.

On February 18, 2019, the WSU-CQU Partenership Strategy Meeting was held in the Elisabeth Building, Parramatta Campus, Western Sydney University. Professor Kerry London, vice dean of the School of Computer, Engineering and Mathematics of the Western Sydney University, presided at the Meeting. Over the Meeting, Professor Liu Guiwen, Professor London, and heads of various departments of Western Sydney University had strategic cooperation discussion over issues including 2+2 dual-degree program for joint nurturing of doctoral candidates, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students, co-building of building center laboratory, student exchange visits and cooperation on high-standard papers. Xie Qiu, who was on an academic visit to Western Sydney University, also attended the Meeting.

On February 19, 2019, WSU-CQU Annual Joint Forum-Industry 4.0 & Built Environment: shaping the future of construction was held at Novotel of Parramatta. Researchers from colleges and universities, government officials and business elites showed up at the Meeting to discuss the future development tendency of the building industry in a construction environment with constantly scientific and technological changes. Associate Professor Feng Yingbin, a graduate of the School of Management Science and Real Estate and currently working for Western Sydney University, chaired the Forum. At the Forum, Prof. Liu Guiwen took the current situation and future development of China's building industry as an example, and delivered a keynote speech titled "how information technology innovation drives upgrading of the building industry". In his speech, Professor Liu shared a number of information technology cases and scientific research achievement of the team, and the audience responded actively. After the speech, Prof. Liu Guiwen and Prof. London answered questions raised by the audience present. Prof. London presented Prof. Liu Guiwen with a gift on behalf of Western Sydney University.

The School of Management Science and Real Estate has made tremendous progress in international cooperation and exchange with colleges and universities of Australia. This visit has promoted the cooperation and exchange between the two sides in areas such as scientific research, talent training and international teaching in the field of construction management.
