Brief Biography

Dr. ZHANG Rong is a Lecturer at School of Construction Management and Real Estate in Chong Qing University. She started her research journey when she was a year three undergraduate student in Chongqing University.  Equity in payment system for people working in construction industry, across boundary communication and coordination are the main lines that links the research field she has investigated:

·  In 2007 she was awarded Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Scholarship by The chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) UK based on her research project on construction workers’ employment mode.

·  Her research interest on knowledge intensive organization in construction industry has been developed since her master’s thesis on competence research of cost consultancy firms in Zhejiang Province.

·  When she worked in Hong Kong Polytechnic University with Dr. Andy Wong for one year in 2009, she began to investigate Construction I.T. (Web based Construction Project Management System and BIM) as a research assistant.

·  Viewing BIM as a coordination tool, she investigated across disciplinary design coordination in Chinese design institutes when she did her Ph.D. research in University of Hong Kong. That period of research also uncovered the problem of management in design institute, such as payment system, knowledge management as well as standardization (ISO).

·  Her involvement with a construction waste recycling project when she did her post-doc job in Hong Kong Polytechnic University give her attention on reuse and recycling behavior.

Her current research project focus on 

· equal payment allocation in construction project team, so as to encourage value co-creation behavior

· across boundary (e.g., disciplinary, team, firm) communication and coordination
